The Higher Institute of Health is a private establishment whose objective is to contribute to strengthening the capacities of agents and above all to train specialists in intervention epidemiology in Niger. It was authorized by Order No. 000161/MESS/TR/T/DGE/DES/DEPRI of November 27, 2007 authorizing the change of the name of the Private Higher Institute of Health (ISPS) in Niamey to the Higher Institute of Health (ISS) from the start of the October 2007-2008 school year. And the epidemiology sector by a second decree No. 000105/MSP/MESS/RS of April 1, 2011 determining and organizing the training program in public health with the intervention epidemiology option.

The Higher Institute of Health of Niger (ISS) located in the Ryad district of the 1st district of the city of Niamey. It is limited to the north by the place of the artist Yacouba Denké-Denké, to the south by the Muslim cemetery of Yantala, to the east by the Soudjo Private School Complex and to the west by the General Education College 25 ( CEG 25)

Management of the Institution and coordination of the sector

The Higher Institute of Health is headed by a director, Doctor Diogou Adamou, a specialist in adult education.

The Master in Intervention Epidemiology is coordinated by a team made up of a coordinator and a course manager. Their office is located in the administrative block of the Institute.
